That's what it's about

There are four letter types: information, invitation, decision with deadline and request. Decisions with a deadline are the most important. You should never stay lying down.

In that order

You can do that now

  1. 01

Check the sender and subject: What is it about?

  2. 02

Mark deadlines. Check whether an answer is required.

  3. 03

Look up unclear terms or ask someone you trust.

  4. 04

If you are unsure, call the office that sent the letter. Asking questions is permitted and usual.

  5. 05

Place the letter in your document folder.
